Exploring Morocco’s Atlas Mountains without a guide may mean missing out on Berber culture and scenic viewpoints. Yet, many group tours follow rigid itineraries that don’t allow for spontaneity during the day. This private tour delivers on all counts—with a local guide to arrange logistics and enable interaction with Berber villagers, and the flexibility to personalize your itinerary. Optional camel ride and Berber home visit are all included.

Highlights
  • Private Atlas Mountains and Three Valleys day trip from Marrakech
  • Flexible itinerary with options to hike, drive, or mule-ride on route
  • Includes a camel ride
  • Pickup and drop-off at your Marrakesh accommodation for convenience

Great escape from the hustle and bustle

Our driver Ahmed picked us up from our Riad. Proper local kind of guy which added to the charm of the outing. He seemed to know just about every soul we passed. Not too long into the drive after all guests were on board we stopped Randomly by the side of the road for a camel ride. We stopped at a few other places along the journey including a breakfast stop at a women’s cooperative. Ahmed was very accommodating with stops for photos. We then picked up our walking guide Mohamed Larbi. Funny guy and great guide. The walk up the mountains is relatively tame but best to wear sensible shoes/trainers. The lunch was delicious and generally the tour was incredibly good value for money.

    Excellent guided tour.

We were 4 people and we booked one night before (last minute).
The whole trip was exactly like described on TripAdvisor, and everything went smoothly.
Our driver, Boelam Mostafa, was a very nice guy that picked us up from the hotel with a van, and we were lucky enough to be the only people in it. Mostafa was great explaining us everything we wished to know on the way to Imlil. He always took care of our well being and we felt very comfortable.
On the way to the mountains, we stopped to have an incredible breakfast at the Argan oil cooperative, and we felt really welcome. A girl there explained to us, after breakfast, the ways they make their products, and nobody tried to persuade us to buy anything, unlike Marrakech markets.
The camel trip was also nice, but for the well being of the camels (dromaders) I would skip it.
In Imlil we met our guide Driss Lachguer who was very patient with us. He proposed two routes for us, depending on our stamina, and we chose the longest, which we also recommend.
He invited us in his home to have a cup of tea with his family.
We also had lunch in a touristic pension. The food was good.
We thank again our guides Driss and Moustafa! They made our stay in Marocco 100 times better.

    Amazing guide

Rachid Romêrro is an amazing guide! He was very knowledgeable about the area and we were invited to have tea at his mother’s house. The hike from lunch to the waterfall was amazing! Our team had a wonderful day trip to the Atlas mountains and waterfall along with a camel ride. Rachid made the experience unique, fun and wonderful. We highly recommend him as a guide.

Highlight of our trip to Morocco

Where do I even begin?!? The tour was AMAZING..the hiking kicked my a*** but everything was simply incredible. Our guide Hassan was so knowledgeable, patient and kind. I was the one that needed a little help along the way in the group and he was there for me every step of the way. This tour allowed us to see a very different part of Marrakech..a departure from the hustle and bustle of the Medina and old town. We trekked through a wonderful small Berber village and made several stops along the way and everyone was so hospitable. Hassan and our driver Omar were awesome…great energy and personality which is exactly what you want for something like this. I highly recommend this tour if you are visiting Marrakech and if you can request Hassan and Omar..these two hands down made our tour. And the other great thing is that we were a small group of six! Thank you Hassan and Omar if you ever make your way to Los Angeles we would love to repay the hospitality! -Diona

    Well worth the day!

We thoroughly enjoyed the trip from start to finish. We booked online in advance and were collected from our riad by our driver for the day, Omar. Omar was very chatty with everyone on the trip and quickly made us feel comfortable, stopping often to show us great photo opportunities as well as taking photos for us on the camel ride.

We were then taken to Imlil for the trek where we were accompanied by Hassan who was a brilliant tour guide and we couldn’t have hoped for a better guide. Again, Hassan had a good laugh with us as well as answering any questions we had and acting like a personal photographer!

Overall, the whole experience was great and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Marrakech.

    Fantastic day out!

We got picked up from our hotel by the tour bus, where our guide Issmail and driver Ali welcomed us. Issmail who was very narrative, spoke fairly good English and was able to explain everything very clearly and made it enjoyable and made jokes in between. The drive up the mountains felt very comfortable and safe with Ali driving, one of the highlights of the trip was the lunch, it was a beautiful, delicious Moroccan lunch and also going into Issmail’s home and being welcomed with tea was a very good touch to the whole trip. All in all it was very enjoyable and one the first trips we have done since we have been in Morocco and we really enjoyed it. Would recommend it highly.
