Exploring Morocco’s Atlas Mountains without a guide may mean missing out on Berber culture and scenic viewpoints. Yet, many group tours follow rigid itineraries that don’t allow for spontaneity during the day. This private tour delivers on all counts—with a local guide to arrange logistics and enable interaction with Berber villagers, and the flexibility to personalize your itinerary. Optional camel ride and Berber home visit are all included.
- Private Atlas Mountains and Three Valleys day trip from Marrakech
- Flexible itinerary with options to hike, drive, or mule-ride on route
- Includes a camel ride
- Pickup and drop-off at your Marrakesh accommodation for convenience

I attended this day trip on the 5th September with my friend. Our tour guide was Mohamed Bowajamor, he was absolutely fantastic! He was super friendly, explained things very clearly and in detail. He truly did make our day memorable and I would 100% recommended him to someone attending this trip!

Interesting, Informative and Spectacular Scenery
Ok so the camel rides were fun and the teenagers loved them but the best part of the tour is the hike up the mountain to the waterfall and beyond. Our guide, Driss, is from the region and is highly knowledgeable. Every now and then he stopped to tell us interesting facts about this region of Morocco. We stopped for tea at regular intervals including a stop at Driss’ house where we met his wife and brother. Exceptional hospitality.
Finally, we had lunch nearby that consisted of the best tagines we had in Morocco.
Thanks, Driss!

Personal touches make the difference
Our tour included a fairly standard camel ride (with ensemble), and visit to a cooperative where they offer some tea and samples. But the trip was special because of the genuine kindness of our driver Hassan, and the Atlas guide, Houssain Malley. Hassan was friendly and warm, giving us as much information as he could. But the star was certainly Houssain.
His wonderful, welcoming attitude put everyone in a great mood; we even each got our own Berber nicknames! I hadn’t anticipated the uphill hike aspect of the tour and was a little concerned, being a bigger guy, but Houssain offered, (actually insisted) on carrying my backpack to make it easier. He lead us to some great spots for photos, and made sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. Since he lived and grew up in the area, Houssain had a great perspective and shared his intimate knowledge of the surrounding communities. He went out of his way to bring us the full experience by even inviting us into his home for tea.
The trip itself was good and worth the price, but Hassan and Houssain made it something to remember.

Great trip to the Atlas Mountains
Our guide Lahcen and Ahmed, the driver, provided us with an extraordinary trip. We were in the best of hands from the moment we were collected from our riad in Marrakech. Ahmed drove carefully and safely. The camel ride was exotic fun and the lovely ‘second breakfast’, appreciated by all hobbits away from home was a welcome addition before the hike through the Three Valleys. Lahcen is an extraordinary helpful and considerate guide – he actually held Ida’s hand up the arduous steps to the High Village, and was patient and jovial with us, his group of six. The lunch was good, as was the coffee we had in his private home. We highly recommend the trip – but most of all Ahmed and Lahcen! Wonderful people! Ida and Henrik from Denmark

A must do trip!
We did this trip with my parents (late 60’s) and my two daughters age 6 and 8. The communication from both Viator (who we booked though) and the tour company was very good although sometimes messages didn’t seem to be fully passed from one to another.
One we arrived in Marrakesh the communication from Art de Cuivre was great via WhatsApp and our guide, Mohammed, was excellent in accommodating the needs of our group and being so flexible and patient with us all!! I can not recommend him enough. He was so very helpful, constantly asking if we (especially my parents and the children were ok) and asking. If he could do anything to help- he even carried my mothers bag!
The tour was amazing and involves a lot of climbing however Mohammed arranged a mule for my father to carry him through as he has bad knees. Please know that even so, there will be some parts that need to be walked through which are rocky and a little steep but it was totally fine.
The camel ride was the highlight of the trip and even though my youngest daughter refused to go and I had to wait with her, Mohammed was very sweet and arranged a separate camel ride for me once the rest of my family were back from their rides they could watch my daughter while I experienced the camel ride.
A highly enjoyable trip- Thank you!

Amazing!!*
The trip was a lot of fun and Issmail was very informative as he was from the local Berber village which made it more authentic! The driver Aziz was very good driving us such a long way from place to place and dropping each of us back at our hotel. We loved the authentic Berber breakfast and lunch followed by a walking tour through the Last valley in the Atlas Mountains. The camels in the desert was one of my highlights as they’re such funny creatures. Issmail ended our trip with a souvenir for each of us to take home and a couple of apples fresh from the trees in the mountain. Definitely recommend!!
