Three Valleys Trek
The main reason for our visit to Morocco apart from spending some time in Marrakesh was to hike in the Atlas Mountains and this tour did not disappoint. Abdul our guide and Mohamed our cook were great company and showed great patience with our requests, slow pace at times, and with the many questions we asked. The food on the tour was good and plentiful and the scenery magnificent. Accomadation is basic in the Gites but this is part of the overall experience of being out in the mountains and the Berber villages. Mohamed Toudaoui our main contact throughout the booking was prompt with email requests and questions, we tasked him with organising our complete holiday from booking Riads and flight transfers to and from Marrakesh and apart from one little hic up with the first nights Riad, gave us a choice of some really good Riads with excellent food and accomadation. Would not think twice about using this company again and will probably will do in the future when we return to Morocco.

Wonderful Three Valley Experience
Mohamed , our excellent guide, was knowledgeable, friendly, attentive throughout our trek. He led us safely through snow, rain and glorious sunshine. Having grown up in the valleys, Ibrahim talked us through everyday village life, schooling and farming practices and helped us understand modern Berber culture. He also knew where impressive photos would capture beautiful memories. Our chef and chief mule-handler, Mohammed, created delicious meals and snacks in mountain passes and teahouses. We felt safe amongst friends day and night.

Fantastic trekking in the Atlas Mountains
We had a wonderful 3 days trekking with our excellent guide Issmail and cook Hassan. Both of them were professional throughout and very accommodating of our mixed ability group. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they both did everything they could to make sure that we all had a fantastic time, including allowing a choice of 2 routes for the different groups on our tour. The trekking is through beautiful scenery the routes are well-planned. It is challenging – we did about 35miles over the 3 days with steep inclines – but the views (and Hassan’s delicious freshly prepared tagine) at the top made it very rewarding.
As others have mentioned, the accommodation is basic (mattresses on the floor/squat toilets for our first night) and even at the beginning of April we were very cold at night so make sure to pack warm clothing, woolly socks/hats etc!
From an administration point of view – it was easy to get in touch with the tour operator via WhatsApp on the number on your voucher. The decision to charge separately for lunches (21€pp/3days) is strange, these are delicious but not optional and would be better included in the (otherwise excellent value) tour price. Also, this is not necessarily
an individual tour as stated on viator – we were a group of 2 and joined another group of 3 for our trip. As mentioned, Hassan was supremely accommodating of our slightly different plans for the trip and it was not an issue for us (we treasured the fun we had with our new American friends!) but the advertising of this as a private tour was not what we experienced.
Overall we would heartily recommend the trip – full of challenge, fun, laughter and new experiences – thank you once again Issmail and Hassan for a fantastic trip we will remember for years to come!

Highlight of our holiday
We had a great time in the mountains with our guides Moustapha and Hassan, who were both excellent. Beautiful scenery and villagers very friendly and accommodating as we passed through. The meals were excellent and plentiful. Be mindful that it does get quite cold at night in the winter! Gite for one night was very basic but fairly comfortable. Take your own toilet roll and hand sanitiser / soap. Riad we stayed at for one night was very nice. Would highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic trip! Highly recommend Toubkal Guide
I travelled to Morocco from the UK with my 11 year old son. We were greeted by Abdul from Toubkal Guide at the airport and taken directly to the mountain village if Imlil, the vehicle was new, very clean and comfortable with seating for 8. We arrived at the Riad just outside of Imlil mid afternoon. Karima greeted us and showed around the beautiful house, the bedrooms were extremely comfortable all en-suite and my bedroom had a balcony overlooking the valley. I honestly couldn’t have wished for a better place to stay. A delicious Lunch was served on the roof terrace soon after we arrived which consisted of lentil tagline, salad and bread, there was options of chicken however we had requested vegetarian food. After that we walked approximately 5 km to some beautiful waterfalls. When we got back to the hotel we met our guide Hamid who would be escorting us up the mountain in the morning. Hamid showed us on a map where we would be walking and pointed out the rest places. We arranged to meet him at 9 in the morning to set off on our trek. Because I had my son with me Karima had arranged for a 2nd guide to assist which Was not expected and was rather thoughtful. Evening meal was served at 8 and again it was s lovely banquet of vegetarian food.
In the morning we set off on our trek and got to know our guide. We had a chef and a ported accompanying us. I can highly recommend our guide Hamid and if you decide to use Toubkal guide I would definitely ask for Hamid to be your guide. His English was exceptional and he was very knowledgeable. He was also very encouraging and helped to keep our spirits high. I am pretty certain we wouldn’t have made it to the top of the mountain if it wasn’t for him. When we arrived at Basecamp we enjoyed another lovely meal prepared by our chef. We were up at 3am to start the trek, it was very dark and we were very excited. We summited at 8:00. One member of the group started to feel the effects of altitude sickness just before we reached the top but Hamid was very competent and dealt with the situation very efficiently taking the member down 100m. Upon reaching the bottom of the mountain we travelled back to Marrakesh to over night in another beautiful hotel. Unfortunately we had to depart at 7 the following morning for our flight. The hotel was in a prime location and central to all Marrakesh has to offer I was very tempted to stay an extra night.
I would definitely recommend using this tour company and in particular Hamid as a guide. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions

Simply amazing!
This 3 day trek was by far the best thing I’ve ever decided to do. My eyes couldn’t believe it, I loved it so much! It was hard work and 100% worth it. Getting to experience life in the mountains and seeing the natural and peaceful lives of Berber villages was very humbling, not to mention the super tasty food that was cooked for us each day. I’m very happy that I booked with this company, the guide was brilliant and so much fun! I already have the itch to go back!! Overall a really happy and fulfilling experience.

Really nice experience!
We had a great time with Mohamed (Bowajamour) in the mountains! The trail was beautiful and not too exhausting. And the meals prepared by Jamal on our journey exceeded our expectations!
Thanks for everything and see you next time on the tour to the top 🙂

Toubkal Guide is the Best
My experience with Toubkal Guide strongly demonstrates that it is the premier guide service for Toubkal trekking. Due to Covid, I had to reschedule my trip several times. Throughout this process Jamal patiently and kindly responded to numerous e-mails and changes in plans. My trip with Toubkal Guide went without a hitch. Jamal himself met me at the train station in Marrakech, and transported me to Imlil Lodge. The lodge met all expectations. Beautifully decorated in the Berber style, it was a treat just to experience the lodge. Food was excellent and plentiful. My guide on the trek was Ibrahim. I could not have asked for a better guide. Ibrahim did everything in his power to make my trip a safe and successful experience. If you are going to trek with Toubkal Guide soon, ask for Ibrahim.
Jamal, too, assisted so kindly in all aspects of my stay. He is an outgoing person, with a warm personality. Jamal and his staff are Berber. What better way to truly experience this fascinating culture than through Berber people themselves.
Having been vaccinated, and armed with a negative PCR test for Covid, I had no problems whatsoever, entering Morocco. Jamal can also refer you to an approved testing site within a short walk of the Medina for your return test. The test cost approximately $60 US, and was ready the same day it was administered.
Now is a wonderful time for a visit. The trail is not crowded, the weather is warming, and the Moroccan people are so welcoming. What a memory!

An excellent trek around the area with an great guide and cook
Our guide, Hassan and cook Hamid looked after us from start to finish. Hassan was very knowledgeable about the area, never hurried us and ensured we had a great time. Hamid was able to conjure up the most fantastic meals three times a day and the food was even better than the restaurants we ate at in Marrakech. On the second day it rained (it is in the mountains!) but as Hassan seemed to know just about everybody we came across he was able to arrange for us to shelter and have lunch in a village house along the way – something that other trekking parties we encountered had not done – so thankyou. I would highly recommend this if you are able to walk for 5-6 hours per day over hilly terrain and want to experience staying in Berber villages.
